Anyone registering data in SmartTrackers will see both the Gauges and Fill In options in the middle of the Gauges page. These pages have some overlap, but there are key differences:
- Gauges: On the Gauges page, you'll find all gauges created for the highest accounting level to which you have registration or management rights.
If you have access to multiple accounting levels, this page allows you to easily filter by organisational structure and other category trees. This overview displays both filled in an approved gauges, as the onces that still need to be filled in. You can also click Details to view more information about the quantity behind the gauge and any associated conversion factors (such as emission factors). - Fill In: This page shows you all gauges that still need to be filled in for past period(s). It makes it easy to see how many values are still pending. This page is especially useful for users who have access to only one accounting level and only log in occasionally to complete the registration for only one location/sub-organisation of a bigger organisation. In the fill-in page, you can also view the history of each gauge and see who filled and changed the gauge and when. .
The Overlap
Values can be entered on both pages. Which page is most convenient depends on your role in the accounting structure and your personal preference. On both pages, it is possible (and recommended) to add evidence and/or comments using the speech balloon icon. After entering values, regardless if it is on the Gauges page or the Fill In page, someone has to submit the entries. This means you double-check the entries and forward them to an administrator or manager in the accounting structure for review.
