Edit or create gauges manually*

If you select edit gauge  at the meter, the meter settings screen will open.

This same screen as shown below will also be opened if the option "Add new meter" is selected for manual creation. The fields are, of course, still empty.

Tabs at the top can be clicked to either move or close* or delete a gauge.

The input fields can be described as follows:

Name

It's a free text field. Here you give the measurement a name, as it is easy for you to recognize as to what needs to be filled in.

Quantity (What am I measuring?)

The SmartTrackers application is made up of a measurement structure. Many have been created by default. However, it is also possible to add measurements or measurements of what you want to measure. Suppose you want to keep track of the number of caused damage at the company cars than it's possible to add a quantity by the administrator. For most administrators this is a feature that is not likely to be used a lot so click on the help button for more support if neccesary.

The quantities are layered. The system always chooses the associated conversion factors (if added) such as CO2, energy, or money. If a certain value is missing then the system looks higher in the tree and then those values are counted. Underneath the meter the settings are easy to control by clicking on the button 'show details' to see by example the conversion factors that are used.

Unit

As long as one meter has no measurement values, the unit can still be adjusted. For example, if the amount of weight is to be measured in tonnes or kg.

Category

At the measurement you choose the best appropriate category. If desired, these can be added by the administrator himself if standard naming is not enough. The categories form the elements in which the measurement structure is captured and which is later easy to search. Work can also be done with subcategories. For example, the diesel use of equipment can be broken down among a number of functional groups such as tractors, excavators, bulldozers etc.

Identification code

The identification code can be used to easily upload data from an external csv file through the import function. The import function can be used by the accounting administrator. This involves uploading electricity and gas data from a data portal. The code should be unique within the accounting.

Time interval

The field of time interval has a speciality. When you want to record the registrations in a finer time interval, for example from semester to quarter, you can adjust the interval. Already registered values remain in the original interval. This change can only be made if no values have been entered in the year in question. These should be removed first.

Moment records (New as of December 8, 2019)

In stead of waiting for a value over a whole period of time such as quarter or year, it can also be decided to process and enter the values upon 'entry'. Depending on the period within the value is added, it is counted in the chosen period of the graphs.

Examples for situations it's a useful option:

The use of materials and waste producedare recorded for an organization or a project. As soon as the order or processing receipt arrives, the value is entered immediately. In such situations it is less about the exact period to which the quantity refers, but it is important to collect the total. By always doing this, after the 'transaction' has taken place, a logical distribution over time will arise.

Another variant that can be considered is the tracking of accidents or the number of people who have received training, etc. It also offers the possibility of giving direct insight into the specific accident or the training performed instead of looking at a total overview over a longer period..

Start and end date

During the period, indicate the start and end date of the meter. The start date is determined from when input fields are displayed. The closing date is important at the time the measurement stops so it's clear no input is required.

Measures

In the field measures can be sought for measures that may apply to the relevant measurements.

With the move function, a meter can easily be recorded under another entity. Here too, moving this move with the button should be saved separately.

Responsible

Choose yourself a controller for the meter. This field is also part of the quick filters. In this manner, a user can quickly search for the meters for which he or she is responsible.
